Website Terms of Use

Effective date: April 1, 2026.

These terms describe permitted use of the website operated by Maine Endurance Sports Alliance (MESA) at mesa-maine.org. They do not replace any separate agreement presented when you register for an event, sponsor an activity or enter a contest.

Information on the website

The site provides information about MESA events, challenge awards, volunteering, sponsorship and related activities. Race dates, start times, routes, prices, eligibility and operational details may change. Review the current event-specific instructions and registration information before making plans. Contact MESA if information appears inconsistent.

Registration, payment and event participation

Sending a general inquiry does not register you for a race or reserve an entry. Registration is completed through the provider identified for the event. Any event-specific eligibility, payment, cancellation, refund, deferral, transfer, conduct and participation terms should be provided in that registration process or the applicable event rules.

This page does not establish a refund or cancellation policy and does not act as a participant waiver. Do not rely on a prior season’s terms for a new event.

Challenge awards and naming contests

Challenge descriptions explain the published qualifying format. Confirm the applicable season’s enrollment, distance, completion and award requirements with MESA. A website inquiry is not confirmation that an award has been earned.

Naming contests require their own official entry instructions, eligibility, deadline, selection process, prize details and conditions. Those rules should be available before entries are accepted. These general website terms do not establish contest rules or resolve differences in prize descriptions.

Appropriate website use

Use the site and forms for lawful, relevant communications. Do not attempt unauthorized access, interfere with site operation, send malicious software or spam, impersonate another person, or submit information you are not authorized to share.

Content and intellectual property

MESA and other rights holders retain their respective rights in site text, artwork, photographs, logos and other materials. You may share links to public pages. Request permission before reproducing material beyond uses permitted by applicable law. Third-party names and marks remain the property of their owners.

External links and services

The site links to independent registration, mapping, shopping, communications and other services. Their own terms, privacy notices, fees and availability may apply. A link does not give MESA control over that service or every statement on it.

Questions and submitted information

Provide accurate information relevant to your request. Avoid sending sensitive financial or medical details through the general inquiry form. The Privacy Policy describes inquiry-related information handling.

Website availability and limitations

Access may be interrupted for maintenance, technical issues or circumstances beyond MESA’s control. Website information is general and is not individualized medical or training advice. Seek appropriate professional advice for your personal circumstances.

Nothing in these terms excludes rights or responsibilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. Event-specific participation and liability provisions are addressed in the separate participant agreement.
